And Rakuten Card Shopping GTV share compared to other card companies like ANB, generally speaking, well ANB, these are the card companies for which are affiliated with reach out businesses. And I would say they are doing fairly good, yet there are some card companies that are suffering negative growth and despite that, Rakuten Card, as you see here continues to achieve a steady growth.
Now FinTech, the Rakuten Card holders now topped 20 million. And when I mentioned about the card holders, whenever the numbers is closed, we were wondering whether our business model could be copied by others but actually we topped 20 million. In the Rakuten Bank accounts, it exceeded 9 million. Back some time ago, it was about 4 million. It has more than doubled and soon reach 10 million, especially in the case of Rakuten Securities accounts, it already reached 4.4 million. And in the industry, I would say this is the fastest growing business.

Dish Network’s pool of vendors for its yet-to-be built cloud-native, virtualized open radio access network (RAN) is starting to look strikingly similar to Rakuten Mobile. All three of the first vendors tapped to be involved in Dish’s greenfield 5G network are also working with the Japanese greenfield operator.

Dish today said it will make a “large purchase” of low- and mid-band O-RAN Alliance compliant radios from Fujitsu. Altiostar will also provide open RAN software alongside Mavenir, which inked a similar deal with Dish in April.

Executives at Dish and Rakuten Mobile have held regular discussions about their plans and Dish has been upfront about its desire to emulate Rakuten’s network infrastructure strategy. “Dish has an affinity for what Rakuten is doing and there will be significant commonality between the two operators in their network architectures,” said Chris Antlitz, principal analyst at Technology Business Research.

The 2020 Leading Lights Awards winners have been announced via a special pandemic-proof, super socially-distant online video conference call (and a little editing magic), connecting six editors in three countries.

The Leading Lights winners were chosen following the judging of hundreds of submissions in 21 categories, which this year included recognition for those companies making progress in networking, digital enablement, 5G, AI/Analytics, edge computing, blockchain, SD-WAN, telco cloud and many more.

Most Innovative Mobile/Wireless Product or Service
Awarded to the company that has developed a potentially market-leading product, application or strategy that has enabled the launch, deployment or creation of innovative, profitable mobile/wireless services (4G/Wi-Fi/unlicensed) during the past year.
Winner: Rakuten, Intel and Altiostar Networks
Rakuten, Intel and Altiostar Networks win for building one of the world's first container-based, cloud-native radio access networks (RAN), a move that will likely pave the way for much of the rest of the industry in the future.

Most Innovative 5G Technology
Awarded to the company that, during the past year, has developed a potentially market-leading product that will enable the launch, deployment or creation of 5G services.
Winner: Altiostar Networks
The open RAN trend is increasingly dominating discussions among network architects and tech policymakers around the world, and sitting at the center of that movement is Altiostar Networks, which is why the company wins in the innovative 5G technology category.

Etisalat to expand rollout of Open vRAN across UAE to reap full benefits

ByNaushad K. Cherayil August 17, 2020

• Telco planning several trials, outside of the UAE, to evaluate Open RAN model under different use cases and network configurations.
• Open RAN to bring in diversification of RAN infrastructure ecosystem.
• The ORAN ecosystem needs some time to mature and for network operators to adjust their operational model to adopt this new model.

Dubai: Etisalat aims to gradually expand the rollout of Open vRAN across the UAE to take full advantage of all the benefits this new technology offers, its Chief Technology Officer said.
The UAE-based telecom operator was the first in the Middle East to launch an open virtual Radio Access Network (Open vRAN) in January this year.

Etisalat, in partnership with Alitostar, NEC, Cisco and others, has successfully launched the vRAN network in the Middle East and Africa in January this year and has tied up with Parallel Networks in February for O-RAN trials in the region.

Etisalat operates in 16 markets across the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

62211 Postings, 7061 Tage LibudaOpen RAN ist eine große Chance für Rakuten, die

meines Erachtens noch nicht im Kurs antizipiert ist, sondern im Gegensatz als Malus existiert - m.E. extrem absurd.

Open RAN is a wild card. U.S. tech giants including Qualcomm, Oracle, Microsoft, Cisco, Intel and Nvidia hope it will give them a chance to expand their presence in telecom equipment, where they already play a role as suppliers of routers, chips and software. Start-up companies such as Mavenir, Altiostar and Parallel Wireless, which are creating software for Open RAN and developing partnerships with the big hardware companies, could benefit too.

"The geopolitical uncertainty is providing them with a much needed entry point - it is now up to the Open RAN players to capitalize on this opportunity and show that they are ready for prime time," said Stefan Pongratz of market research firm Dell'Oro.

Wireless carriers are enthusiastic about Open RAN in principle, because it could reduce their costs, but they are also nervous about security and other associated risks.

Bharti Airtel gets ready to take on Reliance Jio in 5G vRAN space

By Nandita Chauhan

Saturday, 22 August 2020, 04:50 ED

Bharti Airtel: They are ready to take on Reliance Jio in its quest to build its own 5G virtualized radio access network (vRAN) in India. The company which is run by Sunil Mittal is working with the United States-based Altiostar. The company plans to test its own 5G network RAN software architecture as soon as the trial spectrum is provided to the company by the government.

Bharti Airtel is also talking with the Tech Mahindra Company who is also one of the shareholders in Altiostar to play the role of integrator In harmonizing software and hardware bought from different dealers.

Recently, Bharti Airtel has deployed a 4G vRAN network in the major cities of India and it becomes the first company to deploy the vRAN based 4G network.

If we believe Altiostar, it says that an open vRAN 5G system will provide a seamless evolution to the 5G network while working on a 4G architecture. The idea is that the implementation of cloud-based open vRAN technology will play a significant role in Slicing the network to Bharti Airtel networks.
Randeep Sekhon, Bharti Airtel CTO said that the open vRAN network will provide an innovative breakthrough to the company and is essential for the deployment of next-generation technologies.

08-Sep-2020 Intellasia | VNS | 6:02 AM

The technology company Yandex has recently announced that it has provided personalised content recommendations via its AI-based feed Yandex Zen in the Viber app in Vietnam.

Media content from national publishers, including news and articles, now appears in a dedicated tab on Viber’s home screen, based on personal preferences of each individual user, Yandex said.

Viber users in Vietnam can now read the news or engage with other content, share their finds with friends or family, or discuss interesting articles in chats or groups right in the messenger.

“Viber users in Russia have been enjoying Yandex Zen for quite a while, engaging with the Zen-recommended content in the app, on average, more than 25 minutes per day. Our AI-based content recommendation feed is now also available to Viber users in Vietnam. The importance of quality content for a wide range of products is steadily growing: high-quality content increases user engagement and creates additional user scenarios. Yandex enables publishers to quickly integrate personalised content into any app,” said Marina Korobeynikova, head of Business Development at Yandex Zen.

Yandex Zen is a blog and media publishing platform that offers news, articles, images, videos and other content tailored to each user’s interests. As many as 50 million users engage with Zen globally each month

62211 Postings, 7061 Tage LibudaThe easiest way you can earn cashback

Let me tell you about the easiest way you can earn cashback on travel and when you shop online. The site is called Rakuten (formally Ebates) and it’s a little browser extension that gives you FREE money, on things you were probably going to purchase anyway!

So far 2020 has hit people hard, especially financially. That’s why I want to share with you a way I make a little bit of extra cash. Before this year I was earning most of my cashback on travel. Obviously that isn’t happening as much this year, but there are still so many things I purchase online. And, for the majority of those shopping trips, Rakuten rewards me with cashback.

Rakuten is basically an affiliate site! They partner with hundreds of websites and those stores will pay Rakuten a commission for sending us their way. Rakuten then shares that with people like you and me, by giving us cashback on every qualifying purchase.
