ENEVA submits proposal to Aneel to adjust the Parnaíba II Power Purchase Agreements
Rio de Janeiro, June 18, 2014 - ENEVA S.A. ("ENEVA" or "Company") (BM&FBovespa: ENEV3, GDR I: ENEVY) informs its shareholders and the market in general that has submitted to Aneel - Brazil's National Electric Energy Agency a proposal to adjust the obligations of power supply by Parnaíba II CCGT ("Parnaíba II" or "Plant"), considering aspects that will ensure the economic feasibility of the project and the continuity of the PPAs - Power Purchase Agreements. As a result, Aneel further postponed the suspension of payments of penalties related to delays in the beginning of commercial operations of Parnaíba II until July 18, 2014.
The terms of the proposal include the construction conclusion of Parnaíba II until December, 2014; the temporary suspension of the start date of the PPAs; and the reduction of the Plant's fixed annual revenue for the remaining term of the PPAs in an amount to be defined by Aneel, as provided for in clause 13 of the PPAs.
The proposal presented by the Company also includes the signing of a Letter of Commitment to close the cycle of the four gas turbines of the Parnaíba I OCGT, adding to Brazil's National Interconnected System a capacity of approximately 360MW.
The proposal submitted by ENEVA intends to eliminate any energy exposure of Parnaíba II until the beginning of commercial operations, therefore preserving, at the same time, the project's economic feasibility and the fulfillment of an important power supply contract to the Brazilian consumer.
The Company will keep its shareholders and the market informed on the developments related to this matter.
