Centrotherm Photovoltaics AG (CTNK) said orders for the German company’s solar machinery are growing on surging demand for photovoltaic products in the U.S. and Japan.
Centrotherm received orders worth about 30 million euros ($41 million) in the past two months from solar-cell makers seeking to expand their production capacities or setting up new lines, the Blaubeuren-based company said today in a statement.
“The high demand for solar cells and modules, particularly from Japan and the USA, has led to full utilization of their production capacities over the past few months,” it said, with its single-equipment order book reaching about 62 million euros.
Japan’s solar market is booming as an incentive program for clean energy began July 2012 to diversify energy sources. It’s seen adding 9.3 to 11.8 gigawatts this year after as much as 6.8 gigawatts in 2013, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance.
The U.S. last year added 3.8 gigawatts, for the first time topping Germany, the biggest solar market by installed capacity.
