MILAN, Aug 1 (Reuters) -Prysmian PRY.MI on Thursday raised its forecasts for this year's results on optimism for business performance as well as to account for) its $4.2 billion euro acquisition of U.S. firm Encore Wire, which considerably increased the group's size.
The world's largest cable maker said its adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) would grow this year to between 1.90-1.95 billion euros ($2.06-2.11 billion), versus a previous forecast of between 1.575-1.675 billion euros.
The Italian group finalised last month the Encore Wire acquisition, a deal aimed at bolstering its position on its North American profit powerhouse.
