The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) adopted a development program for the shallow part of the Azerbaijani offshore field Guneshli, a senior official at the company told Trend. The field has the largest volumes of oil and gas.
"The company approved a five-year program, which has earlier been developed," the source said. The source said the program is aimed to maintain production levels at the field. The program covers 2011-2015.
As another source said previously the program provides for the extension of platforms, construction of new platforms and drilling of wells.
The company’s goal for 2011 is to construct and renovate existing platforms, pipelines and drill new wells on the offshore fields Guneshli and Oil Rocks, the source said.
The Guneshli field is on the balance of the 28 May Oil and Gas Production Union.
The shallow part of the Guneshli field is developed by SOCAR at its own expense, and the deep part within the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block in conjunction with a consortium of foreign companies.
