Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) is the world's largest chipmaker. The company supplies the computing and communications industries with chips, boards, and systems building blocks that are integral to computers, servers, and networking and communications products. Intel announced second-quarter revenue of $8.05 billion, which was approximately flat sequentially and up +18% year-over-year. Second-quarter net income was $1.8 billion, also flat sequentially but up +96% year-over-year. Earnings per share were 27 cents, up +93% from 14 cents in the second quarter of 2003. Intel continued to post strong year-over-year results in the second quarter as their microprocessor business followed seasonal trends and their communications business grew nicely, led by flash memory. The company stated that revenue in the third quarter is expected to be between $8.6 billion and $9.2 billion. Although the price has been down this year from its January highs, several All Star analysts still believe INTC is a great long-term investment.
