OINK! - the business newspaper for kids aged 7 to 12 now in its 7th year of publication – is expanding its mission to bring money matters for kids™. The acclaimed newspaper is taking its off-the-wall, colourful and highly successful format onto television through OINK! on Air.
OINK! on Air was originally broadcast successfully on Capital Disney Radio for four years, and continues online. The television show will follow the same format as radio, with the addition of phone ins, interaction and loads of visuals and fast, fun facts and action about money, the City, what’s going on in the Money Centres around the World, the High Street and the Economy! And, of course, there will be the latest breaking news from the Piggybank®Fantasy Stock Exchange™ the stock exchange for kids, supported by the London Stock Exchange with the Financial Times, Hamleys, ICICI Bank and The Securities & Exchange Institute.
Piggybank®Television™ has agreed with new, international television network Motion Network Television to broadcast OINK! on Air to its affiliate stations around the world. Motion Network Television is part of Motion Network Holdings. Piggybank®Television™ is scheduled to start broadcasting on selected Motion Network stations during November 2008.
Piggybank® Television™ has been set up by the OINK! Team to handle the broadcast side of the existing publishing business. Piggybank®Television™ also includes as one of its shareholders the long established television transmission and studio facilities business Playout 247, based in central London and from where the “STY TV” operation will run.
OINK! on Air guests will include Celebrity Savers™, a long established favourite with OINK! Readers and listeners as well as some of the country’s leading movers and shakers in the world of commerce, retail, banking, industry and The City! They’ll be explaining how the world of money works – and boy do we all need to know that right now! Other features will include Careers Corner™; OI!™ (vox pop); Trendy Treats™ - best buys and best deals with comparisons from various countries.
OINK! on Air will be broadcast twice daily: 4.30pm to 5.30pm each weekday afternoon, with a repeat the following morning at 6.30am to 7.30am. The shows will be hosted, as with the radio programs, by celebrity journalist and news editor of More, Leigh Purves, and Ernest Henry, editor of OINK!
