supply a leading-edge graphic solution for Sahara?s new 24-hour TV news
network.
The investment of more than US$ 2.0 Million will provide Sahara TV with the
world?s most modern news graphics system, simultaneously serving Sahara
Media?s seven new TV channels, one national and 6 regional, each broadcasting
24 hours a day.
vizrt will provide Sahara TV a complete visualization platform including tools to
create, manage and air 3D real time graphics of the highest quality. The platform
includes everything from news graphics, tickers, a virtual studio and a state-ofthe-
art content & asset management system, adding an extra level of efficiency

VIZRT ANNOUNCES 2002 FIRST HALF RESULTS
Reaching Sustainable High Margins
Bergen, Norway, August 20, 2002, vizrt Ltd. (Neuer Markt: VIZ) today announced the financial results for the first half of 2002 and for the second quarter of 2002. The results clearly reflect the company?s continuous efforts of reducing operating expenses and improving gross margin and bottom line results. Net loss for the second quarter decreased to $US 0.2M from a loss of $US 9.2M in Q2, 2001. Net loss for the first half of 2002 decreased to $US 0.3M from a loss of US$ 13.3M in the first half of 2001.
As of today the company has a solid backlog for 2002 of approximately US$ 6.1M, including on going income from support.
Financial Highlights for the second quarter of 2002
? Revenues for second quarter 2002 increased by 10% to US$ 3.2M from US$ 2.9M in the second quarter of 2001.
? Gross margin for second quarter was 64% compared with 54% (not including one-time inventory charge) in second quarter of 2001.
? Net loss for second quarter 2002 was US$ 0.2M compared with US$ 9.2M in the second quarter of 2001.
? Loss per share for second quarter 2002 was US$ 0.01 compared with US$ 0.69 in the second quarter of 2001.
Financial highlights for the six months ended 30th of June, 2002
? Positive EBITDA for the first half of 2002, totaling US$ 42,000.
? Consolidated revenue for the first half of 2002 reached US$ 6.7M, a decrease of 25% compared to US$ 9.0M in the first half of 2001.
? The decrease in consolidated revenues was compensated by a significant increase in the gross margin to 71% in the first half of 2002 from 49% (not including inventory charges of US$ 1.2M) in the first half of 2001.
? Operating costs decreased by half to US$ 5.2M compared with US$ 10.7M in the first half of 2001.
? Net loss for the first half decreased to US$ 0.3M compared with US$ 13.3M for the first half of 2001.
? Loss per share for the first half of 2002 was US$ 0.02 compared with US$1.0 in the first half of 2001.
? As of June 30, 2002 the company had a balance of US$8.9M in cash and short-term deposits compared with US$8.4 million as of December 31, 2001.
