BEIJING, Dec 23, 2009 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- YGE | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- China's leading vertically integrated solar product producer Yingli Green Energy Holding Co., Ltd. (YGE.NYSE) has signed an agreement with the local government of Beijing's Yanqing County to build a 100-MW solar cell plant. Wang Gang, general manager of Yingli Energy (Beijing) Co., Ltd., said, "The solar cell plant involves about 700 million yuan of investment and could come into operation within one year."
Wang said the solar cell plant would cover the full industry chain except the production of multicrystalline silicon, which will be supplied from production bases in Baoding of Hebei province.
Yingli Energy (Beijing) Company is a subsidiary of Yingli Green Energy Holding Co., Ltd. and deals in the production of solar cells, on-grid solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, solar light equipment and marketing tasks.
Meanwhile, the local government signed investment agreements worth 3.3 billion yuan with Beijing Energy Investment Holding Co., Ltd.; the China Energy Conservation Investment Corporation; the Beijing Instrument Industry Group; the China Longyuan Power Group; the China Guodian Corporation, Huabei Branch; Beijing Yiqing Holding Co., Ltd.; and the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to build new energy projects there.
