Uranium Star Identifies Second Source of Potentially Economic Vanadium on Three Horses Property in Madagascar; Expands Strike Length of Previous Vanadium Discovery Monday November 24, 9:35 am ET TORONTO, Nov. 24 /CNW/ - Uranium Star Corp. (OTCBB:URST - News; FRANKFURT:YE5 - News) is pleased to announce it has identified a second source of potentially economic vanadium mineralization, this one located on the southern part of its Three Horses Property in Madagascar. The Company's previous press release dated November 18th, 2008 identified potentially economic vanadium on the northern section of its Three Horses Property which is on strike, and separated by 18 kilometres from the newly identified vanadium mineralization. The Initial grab sample results from both areas, confirmed by ALS Chemex, have identified vanadium values over the detection limit of 10000 ppm, or 1.628% V(2)O(5) equivalent. The Southern Area of Three Horses As with the northern area, field analysis utilizing the Innov-X Systems X-50 mobile XRF unit is currently being conducted on the core samples carried out over this target area, and has indicated the presence of significant values of vanadium. Based on the vanadium mineralization identified on the southern area through XRF analysis, there appears to be a vanadium-rich trend with a strike length greater than 1900 meters. Second Vanadium-Rich Trend Identified on the Northern Area of Three Horses Further field analysis on the northern area of the Three Horses Property has now identified an additional vanadium-rich trend which has been subsequently drill tested. This is in addition to the initial vanadium-rich trend with an 800 meter strike length already identified. The field results from the southern area target have also yet to be verified with assay results, and samples are being sent for analysis to ALS Chemex's ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 17025:2005 accredited laboratory in Vancouver. About Vanadium Vanadium is currently worth between $10.00-$11.00 per pound (where 1% of vanadium oxide (V(2)O(5)) equals 22 pounds). It is a rare, strategic metal used for production of high strength low alloy (HSLA) steels and titanium alloys. China and the USA are the largest individual consumers of vanadium, each accounting for close to 20% of the world market. World production only totals about 100,000 tons a year. Current primary producers in South Africa are all operating at full capacity. Commercial use stems from HSLA steels offering the ability to reduce the weight and tonnage of steel required compared to ordinary low-carbon steels because of higher yield and tensile strengths. Close to 90% of ferro vanadium (FeV) end-use is in high performance steels for: << - Construction (building frames, bridges, etc.) - Pipelines - Automobiles and parts - Railway tools >> The Company is currently focused on gold and VMS targets identified on the Property. Drill targets have been prioritized through the analysis of compiled geological, geochemical, and geophysical data sets collected to date. About the Property Uranium Star's Three Horses Property, located in south-western Madagascar, displays mineralization and alteration styles often associated with volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits. These deposits can host significant quantities of copper, zinc, lead and precious metals. In the latter part of 2007, Uranium Star conducted a combination DIGHEM V multi-frequency electromagnetic and high sensitivity cesium magnetometer airborne survey on its Three Horses Property, and dozens of priority exploration targets were identified. Uranium Star Confirms 21 Kilometre Trend of Significant Vanadium Mineralization in Madagascar; Identifies Third Vanadium Trend in Northern Area
Tuesday December 16, 2008, 10:00 am EST
Yahoo! Buzz Print
TORONTO, Dec. 16 /CNW/ - Uranium Star Corp. (OTCBB:URST - News; FRANKFURT:YE5 - News) is pleased to announce it has identified a 21 kilometre trend that hosts significant amounts of vanadium on its Three Horses Property in Madagascar. This north-south trend almost stretches the entire length of the Property. The Company has since verified the existence of a third vanadium trend located 1 kilometre to the west of the initial discovery in the northern area of the Property.

21 Kilometre Vanadium Trend Confirmed

Soil sample results from the southern mineralized zone confirm at least a 1900 metre strike length with indications that the mineralized structure continues to the north. Values of up to 2710 parts per million (ppm) vanadium have been returned in soils. A land satellite imagery study indicates that the anomalous vanadium trend can be traced over the entire 21 kilometre length of the Property. This is represented by colour-depicted alteration trends using various spectral bands.

The airborne electromagnetic (AEM) survey flown late in 2007 displays an obvious zone of low resistivity that can also be extrapolated along the entire length of the property. Within this zone, the AEM survey has defined dozens of high quality electromagnetic anomalies that are interpreted to be caused by graphite. The AEM was able to clearly penetrate through a thin laterite cap that is located over a 2.5 kilometre extent of the vanadium trend. This is located in the west central part of the Property.

Horizontal loop EM surveys on the Property have confirmed the AEM anomalies, clearly defining that the southern mineralized trend and the most eastern vanadium trend are one extensive trend that can be interpreted over a length of at least 21 kilometres.

Third Vanadium Trend Discovered

Drilling and subsequent XRF analysis of selected core samples have defined a third zone of potential mineralization located parallel to and approximately 1 kilometre west of the initial northern vanadium trend discovery announced in the Company's news release of November 18th, 2008. The initial grab sample results from both areas, confirmed by ALS Chemex, have identified vanadium values over the detection limit of 10000 ppm, or 1.7% V(2)O(5) equivalent.

Recently acquired airborne radiometric data obtained from the Madagascar Government (using 500 metre line spacing) clearly indicates that the three vanadium trends have a coincident uranium (eU) signature. Uranium Star's ground radiometric surveys have confirmed this anomalous radioactivity.

As with the northern area, field analysis utilizing the Innov-X Systems X-50 mobile XRF unit was conducted on core samples obtained from this target area, and has indicated the presence of significant values of vanadium. Based on the vanadium mineralization identified on the southern area through XRF analysis, there appears to be a vanadium-rich trend with a strike length greater than 1900 meters. The field results from the southern area target have also yet to be verified with assay results. Core samples have been sent for analysis to ALS Chemex's ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 17025:2005 accredited laboratories in Vancouver, B.C, Canada.

Regional Stream Sediment Sampling Identifies Additional Vanadium Trends

Geochemical analysis by ALS Chemex has been recently received for a regional stream sediment sampling program completed earlier in the year. The analysis identifies 5 additional vanadium-rich trends over strike lengths of 5.2 km, 4.6 km, 3.5 km, 2.2 km and 2.0 km respectively. These newly identified trends have received no additional work, and indicate that vanadium mineralization is everywhere on the Three Horses Property.

The vanadium mineralization is hosted by graphitic quartzofeldspathic gneiss, some of which contains appreciable amounts of sulphides, in relatively close association with marble units. Some of the better surface exposures are gossanous. Known vanadium deposits world wide do not feature any immediate analogies. It may be that Uranium Star has discovered a new variety of vanadium deposit that has yet to be documented.

The Company is awaiting assays from its recently completed drill program, which concluded largely due to the beginning of the rainy season in Madagascar. The drill has been stored on the Property in anticipation of a more extensive exploration program, which will commence in the early Spring of 2009, commensurate with the conclusion of the rainy season. Work currently being conducted includes mineralogy to specifically identify the style of vanadium mineralization. It is anticipated that this will be followed by preliminary metallurgical work to determine what recoveries can be obtained from this unique style of vanadium deposit.

About Vanadium

Ground geophysical and geochemical surveying indicates that the Jaky area is at least 3500 metres in strike length, while the Mainty area is at least 2500 metres in strike length. As the Mainty and Jaky areas are on strike, and separated by 15 kilometres of untested, potentially vanadium-bearing ground (Manga Area), the Three Horses Property has the potential to host a vanadium-rich horizon 21 kilometres in length.
The Company's initial exploration program targeted both VMS and gold. The focus shifted to vanadium as the drill holes continued to intercept large, high-grade intersections. It is important to note that there still remains a VMS target of significance, as the Company intersected a highly potential VMS zone, characterized by acid-altered rock typically found in close association with massive sulphide mineralization.

The Company's original drill strategy did not focus on a vanadium discovery. Exploration at this point was well into the rainy season and had to be halted, and consequently the Company was not able to fully outline the size potential of the vanadium mineralization. However, the limited amount of drilling completed to date quantified high-grade vanadium over large intersections.

Significance of This Discovery

Supply is limited - world production only totals about 100,000 tons a year and current primary producers in South Africa are all operating at full capacity. Demand for vanadium is dominated by steel production, which represents more than 90% of all vanadium usage.

Vanadium is a relatively unknown, yet very strategic and increasingly important metal. It is used in the production of high-quality, metal alloys, like high-strength steel, because of its property as an active grain refiner and as a strong anti-oxidant and can impart strength, hardness and wear resistance to steels.

§    The main uses of vanadium touch a myriad of industries:
§    -   Aerospace - titanium alloys and heat resistant steels
§    -   Air, car and rail - aircraft engines & airframe materials, auto and
          §        rail parts
§    -   Renewable energy - Wind and solar power, hybrid and electric car
          §        parts
          §    -   Pipelines
          §    -   Batteries
          §
The vanadium industry is rapidly growing in lock-step to advancements in technology, and new uses are continually being discovered for the metal. Since the production and use of high-strength steels is growing faster than other steels, vanadium usage in steel is often increasing faster than overall steel production.
China and the USA are the largest individual consumers of vanadium, each accounting for close to 20% of the world market. For some time now, analysts and economists agree that China will be the driving force behind the demand for commodities as it continues to invest in infrastructure.

The Company believes that China will be the primary consumer for this discovery. It should be noted that China has global expertise in both sourcing and investing in vanadium.

A November 2008 Financial Post article reports that China is on the verge of a vast boom in construction, announcing a stimulus plan to spend a massive US$586-billion on a series of infrastructure projects aimed at propelling the country's economy through the global downturn. The details of the plan include building 100,000 kilometres of oil and gas pipelines, building 60 airports, and creating 17,000 kilometres of new subway and light-train rail lines. New rail projects alone are estimated to require 20 million tons of additional demand for steel. The plan also calls for US$60-billion for increased power generation. Coincidently, every investment item mentioned above has a direct correlation to the demand for vanadium.

Mineralogy and Metallurgy

A petrographic-electron microprobe analysis has been completed on a suite of core samples to specifically identify the vanadium mineralogy. Vanadium was found to occur in these samples in a wide array of minerals, with most of the vanadium found associated with silicate and oxide receptor minerals. The Company is in the process of beginning preliminary metallurgical work to determine what recoveries can be obtained from this unique vanadium discovery.

Other Drilling

The Property was originally targeted for base metal (13 drill holes) and gold (5 drill holes). No significant massive sulphides or gold mineralization was intercepted during the program, but hole TH-08-05 intercepted stringer mineralization of 0.4% zinc over 4.3 metres indicating the potential for base metal mineralization. Additionally, Holes TH-08-20 through 22 intercepted acid-altered rock typically found in close association with massive sulphide mineralization. Due to technical limitations, these holes could not be completed to target depth, so different drill equipment will be employed during the upcoming program to test the area.

Next Steps

The Company is eager to return to the Property as the recently completed drill program was concluded early, due to the beginning of the rainy season in Madagascar.

The next phase of exploration drilling will be more extensive, and is planned for the Spring of 2009, commensurate with the conclusion of the rainy season.

A drill program of 30 to 40 holes, approximating 8,000 metres will be undertaken to ascertain widths of the vanadium-rich trends and confirm that vanadium mineralization extends across the entire 21 kilometre vanadium-rich trend. To date, every hole put into the trend has confirmed vanadium mineralization. From these results, the Company will be able to begin to estimate the potential size of an economic deposit.

Uranium Star Re-Commences Exploration on its Green Giant
Vanadium Project in Madagascar

April 30, 2009

Uranium Star Corp. (OTCBB:URST) (FRANKFURT:YE5) (“Uranium Star” or “the Company”) announces it has re-commenced exploration on its Green Giant Vanadium Project in Madagascar.
The assay results from the 2008 drilling program indicated significant vanadium mineralization which is open along strike and at depth in all zones identified to date.

Uranium Star’s February 4, 2009 press release of the assay results from its 2008 drill program indicates the potential for a world-class vanadium deposit.  Uranium Star’s vanadium project will now be called the “Green Giant Project” because of its potential size, tonnage and grade that, when quantified, could impact the world’s supply of vanadium.

Exploration Objective – Define Near-Surface Vanadium Mineralization

The exploration program will be roughly two months in duration and will expedite and add efficiency to the planned drill program.  The prime objective of this program is to more accurately define the size and grade of the near-surface mineralization, with a particular focus on a 21-kilometre vanadium-rich trend identified from the 2008 exploration program

Ground geophysical and geochemical surveying from the 2008 program confirmed three distinct horizons hosting significant amounts of vanadium; two in the northern area of the Property, totalling at least 2500 metres in strike length, and one in the southern part of the Property with a strike length of at least 3500 metres. A land satellite imagery study, an airborne radiometric survey as well as an airborne EM survey indicated that the anomalous vanadium trend can be accurately traced over the entire 21 kilometre length of the Property.

The current phase of the exploration program will consist of systematic geochemical and radiometric surveying and trenching of the primary airborne geophysical trends with the use of hand-held Thermo Scientific Niton XRF analyzer units and scintillometers.  These XRF units are state-of-the-art exploration tools that are currently used for accurate, in-the-field analysis of rocks and soils thus allowing the Company to more readily focus its attention on anomalous trends without having to wait for assay/analytical results from commercial laboratories.

Extensive trenching, using two mechanical excavators, will be conducted over the anomalous vanadium trends and their strike extensions defined by the 2008 drilling program. Additional trenches will be established over targets generated from the current exploration work.

Trenching To Enhance Targets for Upcoming Diamond Drilling Program

The 2008 drilling indicated that vanadium values within the near-surface oxide zone are enhanced over those from primary mineralization. The trenching program aims to provide a detailed assessment of the widths and grade of this style of vanadium mineralization and ultimately use it to assist in designing a full-scale drill program. The 2008 drilling results indicate that widths of near surface vanadium can be as high as 50 to 100 meters or more. The results of the upcoming drill program (scheduled for the latter part of 2009) will allow the Company to generate a preliminary resource statement.

Rock Sample Results as High as 7.16% V2O5

Previously unreported assayed surface rock-grab sample results from ALS Chemex of both the northern and southern areas of the Property have identified vanadium values over the detection limit of 10,000 ppm, and in excess of 1.785% V2O5 equivalent.  XRF field analysis of these samples identified results as high as 7.16%, 6.49%, and 5.96% V2O5.  ALS Chemex complies with international standards ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 17025:2005.

Bill Nielsen, Company Director and Senior Consultant, states “we are very encouraged by the progress of the project to date. A very significant vanadium deposit of potential world-class proportions is emerging and Uranium Star is gearing up to advance the project at an accelerated pace. The current program is limited in scope and budget but will greatly improve the Company’s knowledge of the deposit and its size. Preliminary metallurgical results were better than expected and give the Company added reason to move forward more aggressively on the Green Giant Project.”

The physical setting of the Property is savannah in nature and not rainforest. This being the case, no environmental concerns with respect to local flora and fauna are anticipated.  Uranium Star’s Vice President of Business Development, Brent Nykoliation states that “the Company has very good relations with the local population and work with district officials to make sure that all regulations are understood and complied with.  Uranium Star continues to work very closely with the Madagascar Government to ensure that all permitting is in place and current.”

The Project underwent an initial base line environmental assessment before work commenced.
The Company continues to monitor the current political situation in the country as it relates to our exploration activities.

Mineralogy and Metallurgy

The Company has received the results of preliminary metallurgical work to determine what recoveries can be obtained from this unique vanadium discovery. A scanning electron microprobe analysis has also been completed on a suite of core and rock samples to specifically identify the vanadium mineralogy. Vanadium was found to occur in a variety of minerals, with most of the vanadium found associated with silicate and oxide receptor minerals.

The initial leach test results of both oxide and primary vanadium mineralization are particularly encouraging and the Company is ramping-up its efforts to rapidly define what is looking like a world class discovery.

Uranium Star Engages Engineering Group for its Green Giant Vanadium Project in Madagascar
On Thursday May 21, 2009, 8:00 am EDT
Buzz up! Print TORONTO, May 21 /CNW/ - Uranium Star Corp. (OTCBB:URST - News; FRANKFURT:YE5 - News; "Uranium Star" or "the Company") announces that the recent significant advances to the Green Giant Vanadium Project in Madagascar have dictated that the Company retain a consulting mining engineering company in order that additional metallurgical work and an order of magnitude study can be completed. This work would provide guidance for the existing field work program and a future Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA).

Uranium Star is very pleased to announce that PEG Mining Consultants Inc. will be carrying out the study and assisting the Company in completing the additional metallurgical work. The order of magnitude study will provide an initial examination of all parameters dealing with the deposit including mining, processing, infrastructure, capital costs and operating costs. They will also provide initial assistance to Uranium Star in the socioeconomic, environmental and marketing aspects of the project.

The Company has an extensive field crew working on the project at this time. The current program is establishing a series of trenches over the entire 22-kilometre length of the Property, spaced 100 to 200 metres apart. The resulting number of trenches will give the Company significant insight into the mineralization along the vanadium trends and will also provide information relating to near-surface grades. Using a large mechanical excavator, the digging of 1.4 meter wide trenches to bedrock is underway and nicely ahead of schedule.

Vanadium Values Well Above Expectations

Hand-held XRF analysis of the trench sample material is yielding vanadium values well above expectations, both in grade and width. The XRF units being deployed in the field are state-of-the-art exploration tools that are currently used for accurate, in-the-field analysis of rocks and soils thus allowing the Company to more readily focus its attention on anomalous trends without having to wait for assay/analytical results from commercial laboratories. All anomalous samples are being sent to a commercial laboratory for subsequent verification of vanadium values.

Uranium Star intends to carry out an extensive drill program later this year, which will be greatly facilitated by the current trenching program. The resulting drill program will provide compliant resource statements which will ultimately be incorporated into a 43-101 feasibility level study.

The Company also wishes to announce that F. William Nielsen P.Geo, a Director of the Company has been appointed Project Manager. He will guide the Company through the various aspects of work required to carry the project forward to the feasibility level. Mr. Nielsen has recent experience in this regard as he carried out a similar task for Nevsun Resources in bringing their Bisha deposit in Eritrea to the feasibility stage.

Uranium Star - Initial Trench Results on Green Giant Vanadium Project
On Wednesday May 27, 2009, 11:26 am EDT
Buzz up! Print TORONTO, May 27 /CNW/ - Uranium Star Corp. (OTCBB:URST - News; FRANKFURT:YE5 - News; "Uranium Star" or "the Company") announces it has received initial results from the first 6 trenches on its Green Giant Vanadium Project in Madagascar.

Extensive trenching, using two mechanical excavators, is being conducted over anomalous vanadium trends and their strike extensions defined by the 2008 drilling program as well as geophysical and geochemical surveys. Initial analytical results have been received utilizing the Company's hand-held XRF units. Past experience indicates that these units very adequately generate vanadium values that can be utilized with confidence. A comparison of the 2008 drill results between the XRF and commercial laboratory assays was very strong.

Trench Results

A total of 5 complete trenches have been established to date which have been mapped, sampled and analyzed with a sixth trench partially completed. Distance between trenches is usually 200 meters. Trench results include 0.65% V2O5 over 218 meters including 1.3% V2O5 over 32 meters from Trench T-09-02 and 0.63% V2O5 over 248 meters including 1.38% V2O5 over 58 meters in trench T-09-03. Current trenching represents a strike length of 1.1 kilometers.

The XRF units being used are state-of-the-art exploration tools that are currently used for accurate, in-the-field analysis of rocks and soils thus allowing the Company to more readily focus its attention on anomalous trends without having to wait for assay/analytical results from commercial laboratories.

All trench samples are being sent to the NATA accredited Genalysis Services Laboratory in Perth, Australia for verification of the XRF results. A rigorous QAQC program is in place and being overseen by Taiga Consultants Ltd. to ensure accuracy of analytical results.

Previous Drilling

The 2008 drilling indicated that vanadium values within the near-surface oxide zone are enhanced over those from primary mineralization. The current trenching program aims to provide a detailed assessment of the widths and grade of this style of vanadium mineralization and ultimately use it to assist in designing a drill program. The 2008 drilling results indicated that widths of near surface vanadium could be as high as 50-100 meters or more.

§    Significant Grades of Vanadium Mineralization Seen Over Widths of 200
          §    Meters

The initial trench results from the south end of the property indicate that the near surface mineralization has widths that are far beyond the Company's initial expectations. Significant grades of vanadium mineralization have been seen over widths exceeding 200 meters. An extensive drill program is planned for later in the year that will allow Uranium Star to calculate a compliant resource statement that can be used in further economic assessments of the deposit.

The following table defines the XRF results for vanadium from the first six trenches.

§    Trench 6 is still to be completed. Vanadium values of economic interest are present as the trench extends to the east. An initial interpretation indicates that at the south end of the property there is a higher grade core of greater than 1.0% V2O5 mineralization surrounded by somewhat lower grade mineralization.

Metallurgy

The Company has received the results of preliminary metallurgical work to determine what recoveries can be obtained from basic processing procedures. The initial leach test results of both oxide and primary vanadium mineralization are particularly encouraging. Bottle roll test results of oxide material produced recoveries approaching 80% with definite indications that a longer leach time would have produced better results. Primary material produced recoveries of better than 70% with room for improvement.

A scanning electron microprobe analysis has been completed on a suite of core and rock samples to specifically identify the vanadium mineralogy. Vanadium was found to occur in a variety of minerals, with most of the vanadium found associated with silicate and oxide receptor minerals.
