DENVER, May 29, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE via COMTEX) --
Hemp, Inc. HEMP -1.96% announced it will sponsor "HempZone," an interactive business and educational venue at today's first annual Cannabis Capital Summit in Denver, Colorado. The Cannabis Capital Summit , presented by the Rockies Venture Club, and the "HempZone" are scheduled for today, Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Mile High Station (2027 Old West Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80204) from 8:00am to 7:00pm.
According to the Rockies Venture Club, attendees of the Summit will gather first hand knowledge on what, as an investor, they should look for when investing in the cannabis industry such as return on investment (ROI) and where to find angel investors. Implications of banking regulations on the cannabis industry and what advisories mean for retailers are among the other topics to be highlighted. Thus far, Troy Dayton, CEO of The Arc View Group, and Roberto Lopesino Seidita, VP of Business Development for Advanced Cannabis Solutions are scheduled as keynote speakers.
Hemp, Inc.'s "HempZone," at the summit, will create a "holistic" approach to cannabis and Industrial Hemp by educating investors and empowering entrepreneurs to create jobs and opportunities within the Industrial Hemp industry.
Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. said, "The HempZone venue will be used to showcase Industry experts, educators, entrepreneurs and companies. We also have some of the Hemp, Inc. partners and associates attending from at least ten states around the country. One in particular, View Systems, Inc. VSYM +23.60% , a leading Baltimore-based manufacturer and provider of integrated weapons detection systems, will be showcasing their View-Scan product line for dispensaries." Other Hemp, Inc. partners in attendance will be Liberated Energy, Inc. LIBE +5.00% , a growing alternative energy company, that will be showcasing their Guard Lite Security Lighting Systems.
The HempZone will also feature several Veteran-owned business that are emerging in the industrial hemp and CBD industry. Dewmar International, Inc. DEWM +2.33% , which joined efforts with Hemp, Inc.'s IHMMCC to roll out its launch of Kush CakesTM chocolate brownies, and its CEO, Dr. Marco Moran, will be presenting on Cannabidiol (CBD) applications and other hemp-based edibles. Dr. Moran is a pharmacist and former Marine medic, and joins a video panel presentation of veterans who are creating jobs and opportunities with industrial hemp. Brian Strain, founder of ActivSnax, and former Air Force combat pilot, will join Dr. Moran on the panel.
Overall, the "HempZone" will feature four areas of education and information for Cannabis Capital Summit Attendees including: (1) the economic viability, power and potential of Hemp in both industrial and healthcare sectors of the marketplace; (2) five hemp-based companies with various Hemp production or product supply enterprises; (3) Hemp educational opportunities; and (4) business development initiatives for driving alternative healthcare companies and solutions.
Perlowin, a long time advocate and pioneer in the industrial hemp industry, will also be sharing with HempZone attendees details on how Hemp, Inc.'s recent purchase of a large decortication machine will open huge opportunities for Americans to transition from non-sustainable synthetic solutions to more hemp-based green solutions. The purchase, which was announced last week , now enables Hemp, Inc. to position itself as the buyer and processor of US farmers' harvests. As American farmers begin to grow and cultivate hemp, Hemp, Inc.'s facility will also serve as a place to buy the harvest. With the only decorticating machinery of this magnitude in the United States , Hemp, Inc. can process raw hemp which can be used to make paper, fabric, cellulose plastics, materials used extensively in well drilling to prevent lost circulation, material for toxic spill cleanup; and, highly insulating building products such Hempcrete, to name a few.
"Because there is no commercial industrial hemp production in the United States, the U.S. market is dependent on imports, both as finished hemp-containing products and as ingredients for use in further processing. Given imports and retail sales, industrial hemp is sure to provide opportunities for the next American industrial revolution," said Sean Murphy of Miracle Ventures, LLC, on of the producers of the "HempZone."
According to Perlowin, the future is also very bright for Hemp, Inc.'s subsidiary, The Industrial Hemp and Medical Marijuana Consulting Company, known as IHMMCC which is comprised of a "Community of Companies." These companies, which are new to the Industrial Hemp industry, will also have the opportunity to be a part of the Cannabis Capital Summit and HempZone venue. Thus far, the public companies include: Dewmar International BMC, Inc.; Resource Ventures, Inc. (REVI); Webxu, Inc. (WBXU); Greene Concepts, Inc. (LKEN); Global Links Corp (GLCO); Strategic Global Investments, Inc. (STBV); Liberated Energy, Inc. (LIBE); Hollund Industrial Marine, Inc. (HIMR); Vapor Brands International, Inc. (VAPR); Cloud Medical Doctor Software Corp (NSCT); and, View Systems, Inc. (VSYM) which are all mutually benefitting from the network.
