Tuesday May 31, 7:54 am ET Canada TSX.V - TVC Frankfurt, Berlin - TGPVANCOUVER, May 31 /CNW/ - Tournigan Gold Corporation is pleased to announce the mobilization of a reverse-circulation drill rig to the Kremnica Gold Project in the Slovak Republic. Drilling is expected to commence during the first week of June, 2005, with 26 holes totaling 4,275 metres currently proposed. This will be the first drill program within the Sturec deposit by Tournigan - previous drilling by the Company has focused on extension zones such as Vratislav and Wolf or exploration zones like Kremnica South. The Sturec Deposit is the most advanced of the resource zones at Kremnica, based on exploration by previous operators. Located within the Carpathian Volcanic Arc, Kremnica is a low- to medium-sulphidation epithermal gold system with a 700-year history of past production. Tournigan's program of in-fill drilling is the first step in Stage 3 of the Company's four-part plan for the Sturec deposit announced on May 18, 2005. Tournigan has now begun three of the four stages necessary to advance Sturec to production, within an expected timeframe of 18 to 30 months. The RC drilling is expected to improve sample recoveries in complex rock conditions and may result in higher gold grades for zones that are well- mineralised but suffered from poor core recoveries in previous drilling campaigns. The in-fill program is based upon recommendations by Beacon Hill Consultants, author of the current Preliminary Assessment on the Sturec deposit, dated February 2004. Tournigan reminds investors that, by definition, the Sturec Preliminary Assessment is preliminary in nature, includes Inferred Resources too speculative geologically to have economic considerations applied and thus there is no certainty that the results of the Preliminary Assessment will be realized. The program is designed to upgrade Sturec's resource categories to Measured and Indicated, which is required for Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility Studies. On completion, drill spacing at Sturec will average 50 metres by 50 metres, compared to the current average of 100 metre spacing. The results of historical underground sampling completed on the Sturec Deposit (which represents 28.7 percent of the current resource database), further increases the sample density of the resource database.
