* Test conducted by leading dairy farm and nationally recognized veterinarian confirms effectiveness of Tasker's product * The Company adds new product to provide a two-step rotational process as a result of a cooperative effort with distributor * Patent protection process is underway for another new product designed to complete rotational treatment process
DANBURY, Conn., May 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Tasker Products Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: TKER), a distributor and marketer of proprietary technology effective in inhibiting pathogenic bacteria, reported during an investor conference call held on May 15 that an eight week test conducted by a distinguished dairy farm and a nationally recognized veterinarian indicated that Tasker's dairy footbath reduced the incidence of digital dermatitis by over 50 percent. Shortly after these results were sared with other dairy industry participants, the Company received orders from two of the largest distributors in the Northeast and Midwest.
Increased interest in Tasker's dairy footbath has developed a cooperative interaction between the Company and dairy industry participants. Collaboration with some of the nation's largest dairy farms, distributors and veterinarians has enabled it to develop a product line that is more effective in treating digital dermatitis and more adaptive to the specific conditions of individual dairy farms.
Tasker's reorganized marketing effort incorporated the participation of professionals from every level of the dairy industry. In doing so, the Company was able to develop a two-step rotational treatment process that enables the product to be highly effective in varying environmental and water conditions. As a result of the versatility of this newly developed product, dairy farmers are equipped with a more operative treatment. Furthermore, Tasker is in the process of seeking patent protection for another product designed to provide a complete rotational treatment process for dairy farmers.
Digital dermatitis is a highly contagious, erosive, and proliferous infection of cow hooves. Morbidity within a herd can be greater than 90 percent, and the infection can affect any breed or age group and spreads rapidly from newly acquired animals. The condition was first seen in European countries, but during the last decade it has spread across the dairy-producing areas of the USA.
The improved Footbath product line has attracted more distributors and dairy farms across the country including new distributors in Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Wasington (state), Nevada and California. Tasker has also teamed up with two of the country's largest dairy farmer cooperatives.
Environmental factors are further supporting the adoption of Tasker's Footbath. Farmers are beginning to shy away from alternative products using Formaldehyde, which is classified as a probable human carcinogen by the US Environmental Protection Agency, to protect the health of workers and in fear of potential legal liabilities. Products containing copper sulfite are also experiencing pressure from environmental agencies due to potential long term environmental damage. Tasker's unique, patented formula contains significantly less parts per million copper than competitive products and, as such, poses minimal environmental risks. This also provides Tasker with a competitive price edge, since copper prices have increased over the last year.
"Working more closely with our distributors and customers has enabled us to effectively address the diverse needs of farmers, which can vary significantly from region to region. Making our Footbath product easier to use promotes the successful application of our product in attaining the desired results," commented Lanny Dacus, Tasker's president and CEO. "A number of the leading dairy farmers and dairy cooperatives have become frequent customers of our product and our customer base increases almost on a daily basis. Our new marketing and sales strategy is gaining meaningful market penetration, which is building a stronger revenue base."
