TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - June 23, 2006) - Amerix Precious Metals Corporation (TSX VENTURE:APM - News; FWB:NJG) announced that an independent NI 43-101 Technical Report on the Company's Vila Porto Rico Property in the Tapajos Gold District of Para State, North-Central Brazil has been prepared and filed on Sedar (www.sedar.com). The report, dated June 20, 2006 was completed by SRK Consulting (Canada) Inc. in collaboration with SRK (Brazil).

Amerix's successful exploration program continues at the Ouro Roxo North and South deposits in the southern part of the Vila Porto Rico (VPR) property and at the six Cantagalo targets to the north. These efforts are localized along the major north-south trending Cantagalo-Ouro Roxo shear zone that extends for 20 km across the length of the VPR property. Hydrothermal gold mineralization has occurred along the entire strike length of the shear zone, as evidenced by garimpeiro workings and by field and geochemical surveys and drilling by Amerix.
In their report to the Corporation, SRK opined that:
- Both the Ouro Roxo North and South deposits are open along the strike of the shear zone to the north and south of each deposit. SRK believes that there is sufficient evidence to indicate that the auriferous zones within the Ouro Roxo deposits are continuous.
- SRK believes there is a good possibility of extending the gold mineralization as well as discovering new auriferous shoots to the north and south of the current resources.
- Ouro Roxo North is open at depth and the deposit has good potential of extending gold mineralization as well as discovering new shoots of gold mineralization down dip of the current resources.
- SRK considers the entire Cantagalo-Ouro Roxo structure highly prospective for gold mineralization.
- SRK considers that the regional shear is proven as a large hydrothermal conduit of gold bearing mineralized fluids and the numerous gold showings including the Pachiuba, Inferno Verde, and Nova Brasilia prospects confirm the extent of the mineralization.
- The Ouro Roxo North and South deposits also demonstrate that the system is capable of hosting significant gold resources.
To date, two different resource estimates have been developed for the Ouro Roxo gold prospect. In December 2005, Antonio Carlos Girodo, P.Eng. CREA and Camila Passos, M.Sc. of the SRK (Brazil) office completed a resource estimate which was filed with the Brazilian DNPM in support of an application for an extension of the exploration licenses for the Vila Porto Rico Properties. Subsequently, on January 24, 2006, Amerix accepted a proposal from SRK (Canada) to prepare a technical report complying with Canadian Securities Administrators National Instrument 43-101 ("NI 43-101") reporting guidelines. SRK nominated a project team consisting of G. David Keller, P. Geol., Antonio Carlos Girodo, P.Eng. CREA and Camila Passos, M.Sc. to complete this work by about the end of March 2006. On April 27th, 2006, SRK presented a draft report with an inferred resource estimate of 1.34 million tonnes at a grade of 5.8 g/t containing 252,000 ounces of gold which was substantially lower than the first estimate. The SRK estimate was based on 27 drill holes on sections approximately 100 metres apart, using the inverse distance method and a cut off grade of 1.0 g/t.
In order to reconcile the differences between the estimates, Amerix engaged the services of an independent expert in resource estimation, Mr. Alan C. Noble, Ore Reserves Engineering, a Qualified Person within the meaning of National Instrument 43-101. "Based on significant problems with each of the estimates" Mr. Noble was unable to endorse either of them. Mr. Noble made a number of specific recommendations for the "preparation of a fair, unbiased estimate" related to the interpretation of the Shear Zone, the Mineral Zones, the range of influence of drillhole intersections and the cut-off grade. Amerix Management concurred with Mr. Noble's findings. (For the full Alan C. Noble's report, please visit www.amerixcorp.com or www.sedar.com).
Commenting on the report, John Andrews, President and CEO of Amerix said: "The differences in the estimates made by the same organization within four months of one another defies logic. Nevertheless, drilling continues to proceed smoothly and we are delighted with our results achieved in the field thus far. Moreover, our geologists believe that the potential at Nova Brasilia is superior to the Ouro Roxo deposits and we should expect assay results in August from the initial phase of the drilling program at the Nova Brasilia (NBSB) target. Then, toward the end of the year the Corporation intends to engage Mr. Noble to undertake a reevaluation of the resource".
The drill contractor, Kluane International Drilling, has completed 1,411 metres of diamond drilling. The initial phase of the drill program, which commenced on April 25th, 2006, is designed to test and confirm the NBSB target along strike and at depth. Eight holes have been completed and all of the holes intersected the target mineralized zone. To date, the drilling has confirmed a five-metre thick zone along a strike length of 400 metres, up to a vertical depth of 160 metres.
Additionally, the target mineralized zone has been identified in surface outcrop and garimpeiro workings over a continuous strike length of 900 metres. Based on the structural geology, geochemical results and surface outcrops, Amerix estimates that the NBSB target extends for more than 2.5 kilometers.
The technical and scientific information contained in this press release has been reviewed by John Andrews, P.Eng. (Ontario), a Qualified Person within the meaning of National Instrument 43-101. Mr. Andrews is President and Chief Executive Officer of Amerix.

Mr. John Andrews reports
AMERIX ANNOUNCES DRILL RESULTS AT NOVA BRASILIA
Amerix Precious Metals Corp. has released the first assay results from the 2006 exploration program at its Vila Porto Rico (VPR) gold property in Para state, Brazil.
Commenting on these results, John Andrews, president and chief executive officer of Amerix, said: "Amerix's drilling program at its Brazilian Vila, Porto Rico, property has successfully intercepted several gold-sulphide mineralized sections along 900 metres of the north-trending, near-vertical Nova Brasilia shear zone. Through Aug. 31, 2006, drilling along the mineralized shear zone totalled 2,740 metres in 16 diamond drill holes. Geologic mapping and geochemical soil surveys indicate that the Nova Brasilia shear zone is at least 2.5 kilometres long, with 1.6 kilometres yet to be drilled and tested. The potential for structures that branch off the Nova Brasilia shear zone is considered to be equally important. In addition, four to five drill targets have been identified along structures unrelated to the Nova Brasilia shear zone in the northern part of the VPR property."
Mineralized host rocks primarily are brecciated mylonitic intermediate to mafic gneisses and weakly to undeformed granitic rocks. Initial interpretations indicate that the mineralization is strongly controlled by brittle deformation superposed on the Nova Brasilia mylonitic shear zone. The table below shows the distribution of these values within the sulphide zone as well as the length of the mineralization within the various lithologies.

Holes ANB 21 and ANB 22 were drilled on the 4,600S section to test a Nova Brasilia shear zone gold geochemical soil anomaly and cut a mineralized interval that has a true width of at least 35 metres that is open below a vertical depth of 210 metres. The mineralized interval appears to extend beyond the bottom of hole 21. Grades run from less than 0.5 gram per tonne to four one-metre intervals of 1.38, 2.63, 4.43 and 8.72 grams per tonne. Infill drilling is planned to determine the northern and southern extent of this mineralized interval.
Holes ANB 9 and ANB 10 were drilled on the 4,000S section to test another gold geochemical soil anomaly 600 metres north of holes 21 and 22 and intercepted a substantial zone of sulphide mineralization. Samples were submitted for assaying and while logging the holes, VPR geologists were able to estimate that an interval of 10 to 15 metres is associated with pyrite and chalcopyrite hosted by mafic gneiss and granite. This zone is included in an extensive hydrothermally altered interval with chlorite, amphibole and siliceous veinlets. Amerix expects to have now intercepted another important mineralized zone within the Nova Brasilia shear zone.
Fieldwork in the Ouro Roxo area in the southern part of the property by Amerix's geologists documented free gold in the footwall of the Ouro Roxo shear zone between Ouro Roxo north and south. Prior geochemical soil anomalies at Ouro Roxo North and South indicated a 2.5-kilometre gap between the two deposits. However, the recent sampling work clearly establishes the continuity of the Ouro Roxo deposit for a north-south strike length of 3.5 kilometres, and appears to support the view expressed in the National Instrument 43-101 report published in June, 2006, by SRK that "there is a good possibility of extending the gold mineralization as well as discovering new auriferous shoots to the north and south of the current resource." VPR can now confirm this opinion (see Stockwatch SEDAR files: the technical report dated June 23, 2006).
Mr. Andrews added: "In August, 2006, we contracted a staff of consulting geologists headed by Dr. Jorge Bittencourt of the geological department, University of Sao Paulo (USP), Brazil, to assist Amerix geologists in the interpretation and development of the drill program along the Nova Brasilia shear zone and elsewhere on the VPR property. To have someone of Dr. Bittencourt's esteem and high calibre is extremely gratifying for our company. He is a leading expert in the study of granitic-related orebodies in the Amazon of Brazil having spent more than 40 years working in the region."
Based on the review of the assay results and study of the core samples, Amerix geologists and the USP consulting group are developing the next steps of the drilling program using a detailed study of the hydrothermal nature of the mineralizing events. This study will help to better understand the three-dimensional distribution of the mineralized granitic bodies as well as the mineralized shear zone and its extensions and area of influence. This will enhance the targeting of the drill program and its additional success.
Drill core chemical analyses were performed by SGS Lakefield/Geosol of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, an ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9002 certified assayer.
The technical and scientific information and the drilling programs proposed have been reviewed by president and chief executive officer of the corporation, PEng (Ontario), John Andrews, and former vice-president of exploration, Dr. Charles Thorman, both of which are qualified persons within the meaning of National Instrument 43-101.
We seek Safe Harbor.
