PARIS -(Dow Jones)- Alstom SA has received two orders together worth EUR207 million from France's national railroad operator, the Paris-based transport and power engineering company said Monday.
The contracts are EUR170 million for 60 electric locomotives and EUR48 million for the renovation of 20 trains and equipment to refurbish 51 others.
Alstom's share of the second order, won as part of a consortium with partner Cannes La Bocca Industries, is EUR37 million, the company said.
Alstom's transport division, which accounts for about a third of all sales, saw orders plunge 45% to EUR2.8 billion in the nine months to Dec.31 after being boosted by an exceptionally high level of orders from the U.S. in 2002.
