Cyber attacks have surged since 2020(1): a 600% increase in phishing scams via emails and SMS, 400% more cyber attacks, and an 82% spike in ransomware-related data leaks. According to a recent Orange survey(2) , nearly 8 out of 10 Belgians are indeed convinced that digital risks have increased in recent years and that this will continue in the coming years. Spontaneously, piracy is quoted as the first source of concern: 30% of Belgians have already had at least one password hacked. While 1 in 4 declare that they themselves, or a relative, have fallen victim to at least one banking fraud over the past year, nearly 1 in 3 says they can neither count on help nor provide it to a loved one in the event of a problem or exposure to a digital risk.
